Create a workspace in your house that is suitable and comfortable. Ideally, you should work in a room with a proper desk and ergonomic work chair rather than working on the sofa with your laptop to avoid a backache. Keep your desk clean and make sure you have a decent background for video calls with colleagues and clients.

Plan your work even before your workday starts. Have a list of tasks in front of you each day which need to be completed. Prioritise your projects and schedule time slots. Every time you begin a task, make sure you continue it till the end. Do not switch between tasks as frequent switching will waste time and kill productivity.

Get your laptop, required stationery and phone in place. Use a mouse for better efficiency. Plan for the kids to be looked after as their schools are closed as well. Set a routine for the maids and other supplies so that there is no disturbance while working.

Every day that you work from home is critical to your entire team and make sure your team and manager know that you are available and taking work seriously even when working from home. Have video or voice calls with them as a part of the routine. Virtual meetings help everyone stay focussed on work.

Remove all social media extensions and switch off all notifications from social media websites and apps that could potentially act as productivity killers. Keep everything you need near or on your desk so that you don’t get up too often.
